Richard Davis |
Rhythm guitarist Richard Davis was 15 when he came across a newly located guitar teacher in the Queensland town of Nambour in '86. The new guitar teacher was Rob Tognoni who had recently resigned from a touring covers band. From this time Richard and Rob struck up a friendship that would prove to be fruitful.
After about 4 months Rob asked Richard to crew for his new band The Outlaws where Richard was exposed to the local music scene at a young age. He then knew he wanted to become a professional musician.
Richard parted company with Rob in '89 as Rob moved to Melbourne and he moved to Sydney. Richard became involved in the under-ground music scene there and before long was playing alongside Pearls and Swines.(a band remembered for their shows with Rose Tattoo) He also swooped upon the opportunity of recording with Sydney identity Roddy Ray'da. In '93 he moved back to Nambour and played in various local outfits including Modd and Brodie Ash.
While sound checking on stage in early '98 with Brodie Ash he received a phone call from Rob inviting him to join the Rob Tognoni Band for his first tour of Europe in October of that year.
